They are attempting yet AGAIN to declare California an independent nation.
There is a ballot measure they are trying to put on the 2020 ballot, which,
if passes, will set up a independence vote in 2021 for California to secede.

I say vote NO both times. I want California to REMAIN a part of the USA.
Of course between now and 2020, something else could happen as well.
With the election of Lopez-Obrador in Mexico, that could accelerate the
movement for the northern tier of Mexican states to break off and form the
Republic Of Northern Mexico, and proposals in the past have advocated
bringing California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas into the country, as
well as Nevada (south of the 37th parallell) and Coloradio (South of the
39th parallell) and the Panhandle portion of Oklahoma.
If this movement starts between now and 2021, I could see joining the
Republic Of Northern Mexico, one of the options on the 2021 referendum, if
voters authorize it in 2020,.
So it might be a good idea to learn how to speak Spanish, as I could see
California voting the join the new country, if it should achieve indepdence
between now and May of 2021.
And the Republic Of Northern Mexico could finally happen. If Lopez-Obrador
tries to do what is happening in Venezuela, and to a lesser extent, in
Nicaragua, the Republic Of Northern Mexico, or "Republica Nortena" could
well come to pass.
As for who might run the figure skating federation of the Republica Nortena,
one of the top candidates I could see is Maximo Shabalin, as has was born in
Ciudad Delicias. Maximo Enrique "Maxim" Shabalin was born December 30, 1982
in Ciudad Delicas, in the Mexican state of Chihuahua and skated for Russia
with partner Oksana Dominina and won the world title in ice dancing in 2009,
for Russia.
Out of the 19 states that would make up the Repulica Del Norte, only ONE
could claim having an Olympic or World skating medallist born there, that
being Chihuhua, as of right now, though that could change if Karen Chen
should win a medal, then you could add Alta California Norte, as she was
born in Half Moon Bay.
Alta California Norte and Alta California Surwould be the ONLY states in the
Republica Del Norte to have ANY rinks. Even the part of Colorado that wuodl
be part of the country has ZERO rinks. Pueblo, which would be the largest
city in the part of Colorado that became part of the new country, has ZERO
ice rinks.
Alta California Sur would have ONE ice rink in the entire state, that being
the rink in Aliso Viejo. The largest cities in Alta California Sur have NO
ice rinks. There are ZERO ice rinks in Santa Barbara, Santa Maria,
Bakersfield, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Riverside, Santa Ana, Anaheim, San
Bernandino, or San Diego
Arizona and New Mexico and ZERO ice rinks. There has also NEVER been ANY
champion skaters BORN in EITHER state.
The three states that Texas would comprise be have ZERO ice rinks in any
the major cites there. There are ZERO rinks in El Paso, Odessa, San Angelo,
San Antonio, Houston, Brownsville, San Jacinto (Beaumont), Dallas, La Fuerte
(Fort worth), Lubbock, or Amarillo. And there has NEVER been ANY skaters of
any ilk from Texas.
With Oklahoma's Panhandle part of the new country, there would be one
American skater that woudl be a a Nortena. Mariah Bell was born in Goodwell,
which would be in the state of Llanos. She was born in Goodwell in 1996. I
could possibly see her on skating for the Republica Del Norte at the 2022
Olympics, if the country comes into existence by then, though she has a lot
of work to get back on track. Mariah Luanne Bell was born in Goodwell, on
July 20, 1996, and we wish her a happy 22nd birthday, as she turned 22 last
Friday, July 20.

likely be Mariah Bell and Karen Chen.
